Air Time (2021)
Air Time has won several awards since its release!
Lee (Jak Velinsky) just wants to be on air, but the universe has different plans. Perhaps the only transmission during end-times, he intends to keep broadcasting while an imminent threat to humanity is incoming.
Air Time, student project turned festival entry, is a proof of concept experimental short film directed by Jack Dyson, starring Jak Velinksy and Dion Oldridge. Shot in a day, in minimal locations the film was not only an exercise in filmmaking, but a way to prove the story could be something larger.
Arguably this is successful - the ~7 minute short can be a feature: why is Lee doing this of all things during this time? What does the rest of the world look like? Did Lee and Alex (Dion Oldridge) work in radio together before this? Why is Alex staying too? So many questions can be answered with time.

The film industry is somewhat over saturated with apocalypse flicks, and mostly their focus is on the glossy 'method of extinction', with intense visual effects and drama.
Air Time focuses on the characters' experiences during these events. How would the end of the world make them tick?
How have they been effected - and how will they effect others during this time?
